Is Jiu-Jitsu here to stay?

So I finally came back to the academy (Charles Gracie) and it felt really good to be there period. Its been over a month that I haven't trained and just being in a place where you could learn so many things is very humbling. Not only can u learn the art but, this is a place where you can push your mind and body to limits you have never reached before. Everyone is there for many of the same reasons: to get in shape, to learn self defense, to compete, to meet new people, etc. My goal that I want to get out of this whole experience is to be able to instruct my own students one day....I really want to be a part of something of this nature, there's truly nothing like it. One day......One day......One day, I will reach this goal. I just need to make sure that Jiu Jitsu is here to stay.

Shogun/Machida fight UFC 104

There's has been a lot of talk about who should've won this fight. Everyone says..."clearly Shogun should've won". Why tho? I mean, yeah he had some devastating leg kicks to the legs and body but, does that fully determine being in control of a fight? Every leg or body kick Shogun gave, Lyoto countered with a straight to Shoguns chin. Now, which of the two attacks are more effective in KO'ing their opponent? I'm not Pro-Lyoto in this fight I'm just trying to find out why people didn't give any credit to his attacks. They may not have been as hard and obvious as Shogun's attacks but, I take into account the effectiveness and accuracy of the attack. It was anyones fight to win but, to me I think Machida did just enough to take the "W". What are your thoughts?.....

Happy 5th Bday Son!

Man, he's already 5 years old. I can remember where we were at 5 years ago meeting him for the first time. One of the best and scariest experiences of my life. I love you Jericho, have a wonderful bday and many many more to come!
